Summary/Abstract: The first years from after the great conflagration represented, for the culture of the land between the Danube and the sea, a moment of coming back to the normal direction of things. Taking place in the background of an economic life relatively stabilized till 1929, which then was forced to face a serious economic crisis, the development of Dobrudjan culture, in the national context, during the period of time we are referring to, is accounted for by a multitude of facts. Due to the contributions they made to literature, some should necessarily be noted. First of all, we consider the increasing number of some cultural organizations, of the same kind of those which already existed before the First World War, cultural and artistic societies, that followed the intellectual emancipation of all those living on these regions. Initiating different events with a certain echo among the locals, such as the conferences, literary artistic gatherings, these societies made a real contribution particulary to forming a favourable atmosphere, for the spiritual progress of literature. An overall look upon the literary Dobrudjan magazines gives us the opportunity to distinguish three stages in their history, as it follows: the period of debut, ranging from the years when the region of Dobrudja was reintegrated, within Romania’s borders, up to the years during the First World War (1878-1916), the period between the two World Wars (1918-1944) and after the Second World War. The general condition of the Dobrudjan press, from these periods, does not differ much from the situation mentioned above. The considerably increasing number of literary publications from this part of the country, appears during the years we are referring to and this is a fact that has already been testified biographically. This was the moment in which the enthusiasm of some young or older teachers and magistrates, tempted for a short period of time by the illusion of their literary talent, a great number of magazines were published. Apart from these, famous publications, with a decisive influence on the literary stage of this region, were also printed: The Annals of Dobrudja, Festival, The Dobrudjan Magazine, Pontic Magazines and Litoral. Among the facts characteristic of the literary press, the publication of the magazines of literary genre was situated on the first place.
