Summary/Abstract: Postmodernism must be seen as a moment of evolution in literature, as a moment of renewal of production itself. Even if Romanian literature had a difficult process due to the unfavorable historical context, it managed to produce postmodern texts. Mircea Cărtărescu's literature has an important role in observing the evolution of Romanian literature towards postmodernism.
