Summary/Abstract: This article, based on documents located in the Archives of the Institute of National Remembrance (Archiwum Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej), presents the subsequent phases of negotiations and the process of building a command post codenamed „Albatros” at Sieraków Śląski near Częstochowa in the 1970s. The structure was to serve as the forward command post of the United Armed Forces of the Warsaw Pact, whose troops intended to conduct an offensive against the armies of NATO countries in the event of the outbreak of World War III. The command post was to be connected to the BARS No. 201 tropospheric communication system built as part of the project. The paper also describes the changes that were planned with regards to the expansion of the post in the second half of the 1980s.
