JOHN THE ELDER OF MOUND ATHOS AND THE PRESLAV TRANSLATION OF THE BOOK “LESTVICA”

Summary/Abstract: Using a group of transcripts, Serbian and Russian, from the Old Bulgarian translation of the book “Lestvica” by Rev. John of Sinai an important methodological principal is proven. This is a principal found in the translation works of the Rev. John the Elder of Mound Athos (13th-14th century) and his school: the initial textual result is subjected again and again to systematic processing and collation with Greek prime source/ prime sources.
