Summary/Abstract: The paper considers two cases of postpositive use of demonstrative pronouns in the George Hamartolos’ Chronicle translation: 1) absence of a pronoun in the Greek text; 2) discrepancy between the word order of Greek text and translation. In order to adequately evaluate the material in George Hamartolos’ Chronicle translation, the issue of the history of the postpositive article in Bulgarian language is considered. As a result, it was concluded that the process of formation of the Bulgarian postposistive article in time of George Hamartolos’ Chronicle translation (most likely during the reign of Samuel, from 971 to 1014) was at an advanced stage.
