Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyse the position of Polish diplomacy towards the policy pursued in the second half of 1920 by the Romanian Minister of Foreign Af- fairs Take Ionescu. It differed from the ideas of Edvard Beneš, the originator of the Little Entente. The author drew attention to the views of individual diplomats on the subject of the Little Entente and Polish-Romanian relations. The conducted analysis aims to discover which approach to new systems of Central Europe turned out to be the most realistic. The source base are documents from the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America, so far almost completely neglected by historians writing about the genesis of the Little Entente.
