Summary/Abstract: This text addresses issues related to the outbreak of the conflict for the Polish throne from 1733–1735. It deals directly with the first weeks of the 1733 campaign, i.e. the entry of General Piotr Lacy’s Russian corps into the territory of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The outbreak of the war of the Polish succession is a subject which still requires further study. The text contains an in-depth analysis of the Russian army’s march and Polish delaying actions. The question of the organisation and composition of Lacy’s troops is also addressed. Moreover, the article is enriched with maps developed by the author showing the route of the corps’ march.
