Summary/Abstract: The article examines the main models in the writing of Bulgarian literary history, starting from the first literary historiographies after the Liberation and reaching to the contemporary directions and challenges in this field. To be able to outline the perspectives for the development of our literary history, the study sets out potential directions for debate in the present.
