Summary/Abstract: In the Potlach tradition, which is seen in societies especially in Northwest America and defined by experts in the field as a "system of exchanging gifts" or "tool of redistribution" giving or destroying is seen as a symbol of power. In this system, having a position or strengthening one's power is directly proportional to the value and quality of the gift given. This work was called Potlach in ancient societies and generally; It is aimed to look for the traces of the tradition, which has turned into a show of power or a means of domination through spending, destruction and consumption, in the Steppe Turkish culture. As in societies with Potlach tradition, kinship ties and social solidarity are very strong in ancient Turks. This situation caused the Turks to come together frequently for various reasons and organize ceremonies. The similarity of the practices and understanding in these ceremonies to those in the Potlach tradition will be the subject of discussion in the article.
