National Formation History of the Uzbeks

Summary/Abstract: Uzbek Turks are the most populous among the Central Asian Turks communities today. However, when considered in terms of ethnicity, Uzbeks have many different aspects compared to other Turkish communities. Due to these differences, there are still debates among historians and ethnographers on the national formation of the Uzbeks. At the beginning of the discussion are the formation of the Uzbek nation and its emergence on the stage of history, the characterization of different ethnic groups as Uzbek. In this article, the issues that are the subject of discussion will be emphasized and the different ideas of historians and ethnographers will be put forward.
