Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the retrospective intratextual repetitions in the thirteenth-century French romance Prose Lancelot, which activate the narrative memory of the Arthurian prose text in a specific way. The discussed examples of retrospective and intratextual repetitions have various additional functions, as a result of which the Arthurian prose text is characterized by a peculiar poetics. Some intratextual repetitions, which at the same time turn out to be intertextual, are also briefly examined. Apart from their primary function related to the narrative memory of the romance‘s text, these repetitions have other functions within the entire 𝐿𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑡-𝐺𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑙 cycle
