Summary/Abstract: Purpose: To examine the positive or negative effects of oil and natural gas revenues on defence expenditures with an econometric analysis. Methodology: The study includes data for Russia between 1992 and 2020. Analysis with econometric models Stability and regression analyses were carried out using Eviews 12 and STATA 14.0 econometric programs. In the study, the effect of natural gas and oil revenues on defence expenditures was examined with a stationarity and regression model, using defence expenditures as the dependent variable. Major conclusions: Findings obtained with the help of regression analysis revealed that natural gas (NGGDP) and oil (OILGDP) revenues have a statistically significant effect on the dependent, that is, defence expenditures (DGDP) in general.
