Summary/Abstract: In parallel with increasing technological developments, people's quality of life is increasing day by day, but the time they allocate to themselves is decreasing. As a result of this situation, globalization is affecting all cultures at a faster pace than ever before. Especially "Fast Food" habits are emerging from developed countries and affecting all other countries. As a result of this interaction, cultural differences gradually disappear and human life becomes more monotonous. The "Slow Movement", which was first put forward in Italy, constitutes a social opposition to this one-liner. Sustainable development is aimed in smaller cities, especially with the concepts of "Slow Food" and "Slow City" within the slow movement. There are basic criteria that a city must meet in order to be considered a "slow-city". A city population of less than 50,000 people is a prerequisite for the evaluation of the criteria. Considering the 7 main headings and 59 different criteria discussed in general, it is seen that the conditions in question are very important for a sustainable development model. In this context, the aim of the study is; The aim is to discuss the importance of the concepts put forward by the slow movement against globalization in terms of sustainable development.
