In this study, Oguz Kagan Epic and Dede Korkut Stories, which are important documents for Turkish history and culture, will be discussed in the axis of Ibn Khaldun's theory of umran. The theory of Umran includes views on how a human community turns into a nation and how the elements of sovereignty develop and weaken within the state structure.
