Summary/Abstract: The „MERIDIAN” National Trade Union Confederation, consistent with the „solutions through negotiations” principle, constantly informed the state institutions (Presidency, Parliament, Government, Ministries) about the extremely difficult situation of the Romanian economy. With the exception of the Presidency, the Chamber of Deputies and the Prime Minister, the reaction of the other institutions was not commensurate with The „MERIDIAN” National Trade Union Confederation and the seriousness of the problems. The members of the „MERIDIAN” National Trade Union Confederation are for a trade union policy capable of promoting social peace and finding solutions through social dialogue to the problems that arise in Romanian society.
