Summary/Abstract: The subject of this paper is the lexicographic study and analysis of phytonyms in the work of Joakim Vujić's Jestestvoslovije from 1809. Еxcerpted material is in the form of a dictionary, which is alphabetized according to the standard of the modern Serbian language, with notes on lexicographic processing. The recorded lexical units (phytonyms) were analyzed according to their origin and the material was compared with the modern terminological system of phytonymy, in order to determine the reasons for preserving and/or losing certain terms.
