Some issues regarding the acquisition of land ownership in Romania by foreign citizens and stateless persons

Summary/Abstract: Currently, foreign citizens and stateless persons have the right to acquire land ownership under art. 44 paragraph (2) of the Romanian Constitution, Law no. 17/2014, Law no. 312/2005 regarding the acquisition of the right of private ownership of land by foreign citizens and stateless persons, as well as by foreign legal entities, however, until the liberalization of the legal movement of land, the population faced many blockers that opposed the rights and freedoms of citizens, especially those of foreign nationality.Without any way to to distinguish between the legal ways to obtain land, the acquisition of land for foreigners and stateless people was completely not possible.
