Summary/Abstract: The article presents two basic and complementary issues of transhumanism. According to Thomas Fuchs, the first is basically a presentation of the message, as well as an indication of the contradictions hidden in this philosophical and worldview concept. This is outlined in relation to one of its two basic versions of optimization, aiming to transform human nature using genetic engineering and biotechnology. In the second issue, it is emphasized how disturbingly the transhumanist project threatens our dignity and identity, since it involves the objectification of man and, even worse, the transformation of his nature into a completely different being. Robert Spaemann’s investigations presented in the second part of his considerations make us sensitive to this. The article also emphasizes that this concept of transhumanism is based on a masked, but erroneous, monistic vision of man.
