The figure of st. Peter and his journey of becoming a disciple of Jesus in the Fourth Gospel

Summary/Abstract: The article presented here takes a closer look at the image of St Peter sketched by the author of the Fourth Gospel. In the work of John we discover the character and temperament of the Apostle. He is portrayed here as an impetuous, impulsive man, characterised by his loyalty to the Master and having primacy among those who follow him. A careful reading of the individual pericopes and a journey through the places to which the author of the Fourth Gospel leads us allow us to see the process of Peter’s inner transformation and the stages in his journey of becoming a disciple of Jesus.
