Summary/Abstract: Although the concept of organizational agility has received a great deal of attention in academic studies in recent years, research examining the evolutionary development of the concept to provide an in-depth insight into the topic is limited. To address this research gap, the current study attempts to synthesize the academic literature on organizational agility, understand the evolution of the literature, and identify potential research gaps that will help to establish different research routes. For this purpose, academic literature published in peer-reviewed journals was examined using a bibliometric analysis approach to map the intellectual structure of 293 articles published on organizational agility between 2001 and 2023. The findings outline the evolutionary trend of the organizational agility field, the most prolific authors, journals, institutions and countries. Accordingly, the most cited study in the field is "Dynamic Capabilities and Organizational Agility: Risk, Uncertainty, and Strategy in the Innovation Economy" by Teece, D., Peteraf, M., & Leih, S. (2016). In addition, the most cited journal in the field is MIS Quarterly: Management Information Systems Quarterly (1558 citations), while the journals with the highest number of publications in the field are Journal Of Business Research (10 articles) and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management (10 articles). The study is based on the literature obtained from the Scopus database. It is thought that the research will pave the way for future research as a useful guide for academics and practitioners who want to have information about organizational agility literature.
