Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to determine whether the COVID-19 pandemic affects human mental state, his or her aggressive behavior, and, as a consequence, whether it may cause an increase in violent crime. The research conducted by the authors is twofold. First, the problem is analyzed from the medical side. The results of the research show that both the SARS-CoV-2 virus infection and functioning in the covid reality have a large impact on the human psyche. Poor mental state can be a source of aggressive behavior. The second part of the article is of criminological and legal nature. The results of the research allowed authors to determine that aggressive behavior pushes people to commit violent crimes, although statistical data from the pandemic period do not show an increase in this type of crime.
