Summary/Abstract: This paper sets itself the task of presenting biographically and creatively Djenab Shahabeddin, a doctor of skin diseases by profession and a significant representative of Turkish literature from the end of 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. Special attention is paid to the official isolation in which the poet and writer found himself after the establishment of the republican system in the neighboring country in 1923. Accused of indifference to the national liberation movement of his people in the 1920s, the last decade of his life he was condemned to public oblivion, which became a kind of a ban.
