Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to restate the social-ethical implications of Jesus’ message and actions, as documented in the gospels. Additionally, based upon the example provided, it offers a brief reflection on the implications of Jesus’ model for the contemporary church. The paper concludes that authentic Christian social ethics should actively work to alleviate poverty, oppression, injustice, and alienation.
