Design/methodology/approach – The study was conducted using secondary data analysis method. The data of the study was obtained from 147 comments aiming to examine the views of the local community on second home tourism in Alanya. In this way, existing data was used as secondary to analyze the opinions of local people about second home tourism after Covid-19. Findings – The findings are organized around six main themes. Foreigners renting housing and buying real estate has increased cultural interaction in Alanya, but it has also increased housing rents and made access to property more difficult for locals. Second home tourism has increased property prices, affected unemployment and brought foreign competition to the local business community. Environmental issues and concerns of local people are also addressed. Discussion – The findings of the study show that second home tourism in Alanya has significant impacts on the local economy, real estate market, labor force and environmental dynamics. The increasing demand for housing by foreigners has increased local housing rents, which has become a major problem for locals struggling with economic difficulties. Rising real estate prices have restricted access to property and affected the economic well-being of local residents. Unemployment and job losses, especially in the real estate sector, highlight the challenges faced by the local workforce. Furthermore, environmental issues and concerns of local residents raise important issues that need to be addressed in terms of sustainability and social cohesion of second home tourism. These findings inform the management and policy making of second home tourism in Alanya and provide a basis for future research.
