Summary/Abstract: Purpose – Organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), which expresses the extra role behaviors voluntarily exhibited by employees, may not always lead to positive results. Citizenship fatigue is a concept that has emerged from this point of view and has not been the subject of any research in the national literature. The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of organizational commitment in the effect of citizenship fatigue on turnover intention. Design/Methodology/Approach – The relational screening model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The sample of the study consists of 210 employees from different occupational groups. Survey method was used in this study. The hypotheses were tested with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). In addition, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, explanatory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis were used. Findings – According to the results of the research, citizenship fatigue has positive and significant effect on turnover intention, citizenship fatigue has negative and significant effect on organizational commitment and organizational commitment has negative and significant effect on turnover intention. In addition, it has been determined that organizational commitment has a mediating role in the effect of citizenship fatigue on turnover intention. Discussion – Since the concept of citizenship fatigue has not been discussed before by including it in a research model in the national literature, the relevant findings have been compared with some other similar studies and it has been seen that consistent results have emerged. Therefore, it is thought that addressing the concept of citizenship fatigue in the research will make an important theoretical and practical contribution to the national literature.
