Summary/Abstract: The book addresses the issue of social exclusion. The authors consider this topic in the broader context in which they characterise contemporary society as an arena in which various forms of economic, social, symbolic and psychological violence are manifested simultaneously. They derive their diagnosis from the changes that contemporary society has experienced over the last four or five decades, based on which they analyse the different types of reactions of those who are economically, socially and personally unsuccessful as a result of these changes and who find themselves among the socially excluded. In conclusion, the authors consider those parameters that would have to change in our type of society so that the fight against exclusion is given a chance of success and is not reduced to the mere administration of exclusion as, unfortunately, happens all too often today.
