Summary/Abstract: One of the leading composers of the 20th century, Paul Hindemith (1895-1963), the Horn Concerto, is one of the most remarkable compositions among the horn works composed during this period in terms of its compositional form. Hindemith's Horn Concerto, composed in 1949 for Dennis Brain (1921-1957), one of the most successful horn players of his time, is a piece that can help horn performers develop various aspects due to its technical and musical challenges. Therefore, it holds a significant place among the important works to be studied in the horn repertoire. The general convention is for the performer to determine articulation, musicality, and nuance choices of the piece according to the composer's stylistic understanding and the period in which the work was written. In this context, it is important for the performer to acquire knowledge about the composer, the musical culture of the era in which he lived, and the musical language before interpreting the piece. Therefore, in this study, Paul Hindemith's life, the musical culture of his era, and the composer's musical style have been addressed, and a musical analysis of the piece has been conducted. As a result of this examination, the aim is to help horn performers better comprehend the piece, embrace the composer's musical style and language more profoundly. Due to the limited resources in Turkish literature about Paul Hindemith's Horn Concerto, it is believed that this study will serve as a helpful resource for horn performers, educators, and horn students.
