Summary/Abstract: For a very long time, living forms and art forms have been put in relationship by thinkers and artists. Analogies have always fascinated poets with the power of correspondences. Imagination and thought meet when creativity in nature and artistic creation are linked. Botany for example has undoubtedly inspired artists throughout the ages. Plant metaphors have always been an important part of the poetic imagination. Their diversity also stems from the evolution of the botanical science itself and from its relation to arts. The paper aims to trace some of the threads that link botany and art, and the mixing of codes in the practices of writers and researchers who are equally subject to the scientific discoveries and to the aesthetics of forms.
