Financial Aspects Of Project Implementation In The Northwestern Planning Area

Summary/Abstract: The present study aims to carry out a comprehensive, but at the same time numerically and analytically synthesized analysis of the implementation of European-funded projects in the Northwestern Planning Area. The quantitative measures of the financing in the region have been analyzed, such as contracts, beneficiaries, grants, value of financing, and the programmes and their percentage ratios to the total number for the region. The period under review covers the current data for the programming period 2014-2020. The performed analysis shows that Vratsa region has dominant importance in the development of the Northwestern planning area, with realized projects for nearly half a billion and the highest value of the projects distributed to one inhabitant, followed by Pleven region, which has the largest number of contracts for funding.
