Summary/Abstract: A key concept in this presentation is “oil price dynamics and the factors that affect it”, which means all variations in the price of oil, regardless of the size of the price of oil and its derivatives, as for any sudden and unexpected increase the term "oil shock" is used for the price above levels that are characteristic of a given period before the corresponding sharp amplitude. The factors that shape the price of oil are diverse and have different effects. Like the prices of other commodities, the price of crude oil fluctuates widely during shortages or oversupplies. The crude oil price cycle may continue for several years in response to changes in demand, as well as OPEC and non-OPEC supplies. We will discuss the formation of oil prices and its derivatives, the various factors influencing the price of oil, geopolitical events, supply and demand – especially in a pandemic, trade and the economy and we will conclude that the price of oil in not a constant and is constantly influenced by demand and consumption.
