Digital Technologies - Fundamental Concepts And Possibilities For Application In The Agricultural Sector

Summary/Abstract: Digitalisation is spreading in every human activity, including the agricultural sector. Defined as a digital revolution, the expectations from digitalisation are aimed at meeting the challenges through new opportunities and innovative tools offered by modern technologies. The present work provides an overview of opportunities for the application of digital technologies in the agricultural sector. Some theoretical formulations and definitions related to the agriculture digitalization, trends in the practical application of digital technologies and studies related to innovation and digitalisation in agriculture are also considered herein. At the same time, examples of good foreign practices based on digital technologies in agriculture are presented.
