Summary/Abstract: Financial security has its dimension both at the level of economic agents (households, companies and government), internationally (bilaterally and multilaterally) and globally. In each of the cited dimensions, financial security has its monetary, resp. currency expression, which is measured in the damage caused and damage to financial interests in the public aspect. Regulations are an important component in strengthening financial security. Leading in them are the legislative measures, procedures and practices for combating money laundering and the measures against terrorist financing. The subject of this article is the financial security, and its subject is the company and banking procedures for combating money laun-dering. The aim of the study is to present in a problem-critical perspective the problem of strengthening financial security through internationally agreed measures and procedures against money laundering and terrorist financing. The leading hypothesis is related to the statement that the banking system is the basis for building an internationally agreed institutional barrier against money laundering and terrorist financing in order to protect the public interest and preserve the wealth of households, companies and the population. As a result of the research, the main techniques and tools for behavioural and documentary anti-money laundering and measures against terrorist financing have been summarized and critically analyzed.
