Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to analyze the impact of employees’ career paths on the process mindset (process consciousness). Many organizations are trying to introduce business process management. However, it is complicated. The question is: how to build and raise process consciousness among employees? It is not easy. In reality, business process owners are being negatively assessed by line managers. Even in well progressed organizations (concerning BPM) employees encounter confusion between functions and processes. The problem is also affected by the different career paths of employees. The relations between career models and process consciousness are discussed. The development of process mindset is the most difficult challenge for top management and HR specialists.
