Japanese Management Concept vs. Assumptions from process-oriented Business Management

Summary/Abstract: The use of flat organizational structure is a process commonly used in Japanese organizations, which are characterized by the most efficient production systems in the world and are widely recognized among practitioners as an example of operational excellence. Japanese management concepts being in harmony with the organizational culture, which is largely affected by religion as well as tradition and customs of Asia, are equally effective in particular with regard to human resources. Therefore, after the presentation of assumptions about the process management, factors that determine Japanese organizational culture and influence Japanese management concept were identified. In addition, American and Japanese management organization characteristics were presented. Making use of the presented features of the management concept a research tool was created, and research was conducted in an attempt to answer the question: which model of organizational management is closer to the members of the process organizations. The purpose of this article is to answer the question: how Polish workers of surveyed organizations oriented around processes perceive and evaluate their businesses in terms of using in them solutions taken from the Japanese management concept. In addition, considerations were given on the possibilities of implementation of Japanese management model in the studied companies
