Reception of Terry Pratchett’ s “The Colour of Magic”

Summary/Abstract: The main focus of this study are Daria Karapetkova’ s “The Boot in Bulgarian Literary Fashion“ and Terry Terry Pratchett’s “The Colour of Magic”. It is paid great attention to the methods of translating nouns and115verbs from English to Bulgarian. Correspondences and discrepancies between the original and the translation of “The Color of Magic” are commented on, while taking into account the approaches and justifications described by D. Karapetkova. The text is structured into several compositional segments in order to provide the information in an accurate and clear manner. The introduction of this work briefly presents its goals and objectives. The second part focuses on “The Boot”. The third – on the comparative analysis of the two versions of “The Color of Magic”. Finally, the conclusion summarizes the main points of the study. The overall idea of this paper is to investigate the reception of Terry Pratchett’s novel, and of fiction in general.
