Summary/Abstract: The attention paid to translation in recent decades, the deepening of its study, the realization of the importance it occupies, perhaps neglected until recently (perhaps for convenience due to unspoken but present unpreparedness), leads us to believe that it is a relatively new discipline. In fact, the existence of interest in translation and the detailed delving into the subject matter lies back in time. The article discusses some turning points concerning translation and the changes in approaches used over the past centuries. Examples are listed in which it is observed how a transfer of meaning could be interpreted differently, how even small changes could alter the intensity of the source text.
