Summary/Abstract: This contribution aims to reflect on the disability representation included in the folk tales with a particular reference to the wellknown collection Italian Folktales by Italo Calvino. In order to highlight which are the most common rhetoric about the subject in exam and the tight interconnection and interdependence among tales, social representations and the collective imaginary formation, it is proposed an analysis of selected folktales and some significant iconographic representation of them.
