Summary/Abstract: Although some researchers have previously pointed out the linguistic analysis of the names of Turkish weapons used in the Turkish defense industry, there is no detailed study dealing with the linguistic, cultural and historical characteristics of Turkish weapons. In this respect, the weapon is a means of attack or defense for the survival and progress of the nation; showing the owner's title, rank and financial situation, together with its building, shape, sign, ornament and inscription; it is important because it helps us to follow the history of language and thought. In this article, the etymology of the unmanned aerial vehicle kargu, which is one of the products of the Turkish defense industry, will be emphasized and while opinions about the stages and origin of the word kargu in the historical process; etymological dictionaries of Turkish, Compilation Dictionary and Screening Dictionary, historical and contemporary works of Turkish language will be used.
