Summary/Abstract: Cities are important in reaching solutions to global problems. One of the most significant issues where cities are expected to play a proactive role is growing more urgent is climate change. Urban authorities are given a significant role in this context since it is anticipated that the policies outlined in the documents developed by international organizations would be implemented primarily in urban areas. Cilimate-friendly policies are becoming more critical. The United Nations has published strategy documents “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” and “Climate Action Plan”. Türkiye, has released its Strategic Plan (2019–2023) as well as its Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan (2011–2023). In this study, the strategies for addressing climate change in policy documents were studied, and comparisons were made between the national documents' aims and the international targets set for cities. A future road map for Türkiye’s cities is intended to be presented.
