Summary/Abstract: The author of the article aims at analyzing the conflict and cultural dissonance in Antoni Szigetinski's novel "On the Rocks of Calvados" manifested from the perspective of three aspects: clothing, food and marriage. The analysis reveals the conflict between the "familiar" and the "foreign" in the minds of characters, the culture shock and dissonance having a destructive impact on both the individual and society.
