Summary/Abstract: Adam Cucu is one of the memorable personalities of the Serbian Banat, who spent most of his life in Timișoara, where he was employed as a geodetic engineer, head of the Geodetic Inspectorate in Timișoara. Cucu also stood out as a passionate researcher of Banat history and archaeology, publishing in the interwar period several books and studies in specialized journals, especially on the topic of Banat maps and roads in antiquity, but also on the remains of Roman civilization on the Banat area. His public interest activity also included contributing to the establishment of the Ripensia football club in Timișoara, being involved in the management of numerous cultural and economic institutions and societies. He supported morally and materially the cultural and religious activities of the citizens of his hometown Oreșat near Biserica Albă as well as of Romanians from the Serbian Banat in general.
