Summary/Abstract: The beginning of 2023 was marked by the rise of public awareness of the impact of various artificial intelligence applications on all fields. Photography has been strongly influenced by the rise of text-based image generators. The use of artificial intelligence is not new in ultra-contemporary visual arts, nor in photography; the difference lies in the public awareness of this presence. There is a need to understand current digital and photographic technologies, to know examples of artworks based on artificial intelligence, to identify appropriate terms for these media works, to catalogue them aesthetically, and to be aware of ethical and legal aspects. This article is not exhaustive, nor technical, but presents the impact of artificial intelligence on recent art and photography.
