Summary/Abstract: The present article questions, starting from the teaching of Jacques Lacan, the particularities of the image in the nightmare, and in what way does this lead to a certain awakening of the subject. We will also try to underline how several works by David Lynch, very close to the structure of the nightmare, express this mechanism in their own specific approach.
