Summary/Abstract: The concept of truth in Gestalt psychotherapy shyly slips through the lines of a few authors. It is very challenging to write about the truth because we mostly experience it in relational encounters. The aim of this paper is the theoretical determination of the concept of truth through various related concepts represented by Gestalt psychotherapy. Philosophy as a discipline was mostly concerned with the conceptualization of truth in a very precise way. However, the truth in intimate relationships that Zinker dealt with provides a completely different and equally important perspective that lies at the core of the relational approach of Gestalt psychotherapy. As authenticity encompasses the truth, it is also very different to talk about it in a dialogic relationship as opposed to the individualistic approach to clients that Gestalt psychotherapy originally espoused. Ethics and values are the content base and a necessary prerequisite for true dialogue in an authentic relationship. Therefore, I decided to dedicate myself equally to them, considering the violated values in society.
