Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to consider the ways of approaching current issues (relations among intercultural – local, integration - isolation) through the example of the topic of relevant work from the recent Croatian literary production (Kristian Novak, Ciganin ali najljepši). Based on the referential sociological knowledge and insight into literary production, a comparative analysis was used to establish the concept of poetic flows as a principle with an emphasis on the figure of the identity nomad and its projection on a local scale (the County of Međimurje). The fundamental parameters that we considered relevant for the analysis of the ratio of the majority population (mostly Croatian) vs. of the minority (Roma) were carried out and checked/verified by conducting a survey
