Summary/Abstract: The present study is dedicated to the penetrability of the composed verb forms in the modern Bulgarian language. We consider the possibility that they may be separated by clitic pronouns and particles, the interrogative particle ли, stressed words, detached parts, interpolated words and expressions, and simple sentences. We demonstrate these observations through concrete models and examples from electronic corpora and the Internet. We are interested in the penetrability of all evidential compound forms in the active and passive voice, as well as in the conditional mood compound forms. The main goals are to prove that compound forms can be penetrated only in certain places, and that the possibility of separation of elements that are not part of verbal compound forms proves the incomplete process of grammaticalization of these forms. We apply the expansion test, called so by Chr. Lehmann (Lehmann 2002), which in all cases proves my hypotheses.
