Summary/Abstract: Diocese of Koszalin-Kolobrzeg when it was erected in 1972 had one sanctuary in the diocese. In the Skrzatusz Church, from 1575, Our Lady of Sorrows was venerated. This place was declared a diocesan sanctuary by the first bishop, Ignacy Jež, with solemn celebrations of the dicesan indulgence on September 15 or the Sunday after the date. The Skrzatuska Pieta and the parish were looked after by the Salesian priests since 1952. Bishop I Jež gave the the sanctuary. This initiated many efforts on their part. The efforts of the bishops and the Salesians led to the revival of the pilgrimage movement. The developing cult made it possible to make efforts to crowns the miraculous figure.
