Summary/Abstract: The author of the article begins his considerations with explaining the notion of guerilla warfare and then carries out a detailed analysis of the insurrection plans that crystallized within the „red” organizations in 1862–1863. He directs the discussion towards answering the following question: was the January Uprising planned in advance as guerilla warfare or was taking on this form of fight enforced on the uprising leaders by some other circumstances? Analyzing the subsequent projects of the uprising: by Ludwik Mierosławski, Jarosław Dąbrowski, Zygmunt Padlewski and Józef Narzymski, as well as Zygmunt Sierakowski, the author tries to find the answer to the question posed above. At the same time, the assessment of the plausibility of individual uprising plans is only a background for the main thread of the analysis.
