Summary/Abstract: Religious practices may be an important part of the long process of resocialization of the prisoners. The article’s main goal is to present a criminal biography of a person sentenced for participation in an armed organized crime group and attempt an interpretation of the biography from the social adaptation perspective. Particular attention was paid to the role of religious practice in rehabilitation. The paper adopts an empirical perspective and presents the results based on such qualitative methods as free-form interviews with a member of organized crime and document analysis such as prisoners’ records.
