Insiders or strangers? “Studies on antagonism to strangers” by Florian Znaniecki as a framework for analysing attitudes towards war migrants from Ukraine on the basis of survey data and observations of Ukrainian signs in the landscape of Wrocław

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyse the attitudes of Poles towards war migrants from Ukraine in the period after the invasion of troops of the Russian Federation in February 2022. The empirical base for the considerations is formed by opinion polls and visual data collected by the author – references to Ukrainians and Ukraine in the space of Wrocław registered on photographs. The theoretical framework for the considerations is the concept of Znaniecki. This concept was used as a theoretical framework to try to answer the question at which pole of the “insider-stanger” axis war migrants are placed by Poles.
